As one prominent lawyer said, "nobody knows more about how to get things done in bankruptcy court than Nancy King." Nancy, a native Nashvillian, graduated in the top of her law school class and was the Comments Editor on the Board of the Law Review. After graduation, she clerked for the Honorable Hewitt P. Tomlin on the Tennessee Court of Appeals.
Following that clerkship, Nancy served for 25 years as a career judicial law clerk to the Honorable George C. Paine, II (retired) and the Honorable Randal S. Mashburn. She has extensive experience in all aspects of Chapter 11 cases, business bankruptcies, and the practice of law in the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts in Tennessee and beyond. She has authored numerous bankruptcy related articles and is a frequent presenter at seminars focused on bankruptcy law and practice.
Her encyclopedic bankruptcy knowledge, extensive experience, and disarming demeanor make Nancy a top choice for debtor or committee counsel in significant Chapter 11 cases. In addition to her law practice, Nancy is also the Executive Director of Nonprofit Housing Corporation, Inc., a small nonprofit working to develop affordable housing in and around Middle Tennessee.
